I see two people growing out of those companiable rooftops. I wonder what they’re saying, so close to the sky – what do they see, that we can’t imagine?

Iona is supposed to be a spiritual center. Many people travel there for that reason.
Yes it is. The Book of Kells is likely to have been written here and then taken to Ireland later.
We went to Iona for the reason you mention. We had a focus on literature of the Middle Ages when we studied. So we enjoy visiting places that are connected to that era on our way.
