Thank you, Paula! The left one is a small town (or rather a castle?) near Greve in Chianti. The street you see is, in fact, the only one there.
And you are right about the right picture: That’s Torre Mangia in Siena. I had a hard tie avoiding the crowds too. We soon found out that it was best to arrive at the tourist magnets around 4 p.m. when the coaches collected their loads to leave – and the light became more and more beautiful.
What month were you there?
In May and June – still, especially Siena with its narrow streets was packed!
